EBay will cut 2,400 jobs in first quarter
January 22 , 2015
American internet firm eBay is set to slash 2,400 jobs, around 7% of its workforce, within the first quarter, it said on Wednesday, January 21, according to media reports.
The e-commerce giant’s move comes before a planned split from PayPal, eBay’s online payment business.
In a statement made as part of its fourth quarter earning report, eBay said it was refocusing its businesses and making sure it was ready to “compete and win."
The job cull would be across eBay Marketplaces, eBay Enterprise, and PayPal units.
