Debt crisis: Not much hope of solution at latest talks, says Greece

  • The Greek government has indicated that the meeting of eurozone ministers on Thursday is unlikely to yield a solution to the country’s debt crisis.

Yanis Varoufakis, Greece’s finance minister, however, said that the country had a “political and moral” duty to reach a deal with international lenders like the EU and IMF.

The creditors, including the European Central Bank and European Commission, want Greece to implement more reforms and take additional austerity steps, something which the left-wing Greek government is reluctant to do.
