China's manufacturing activity hits 18-month high

China’s manufacturing activity was at an 18-month high in July, a survey by HSBC has shown.
The purchasing managers’ index (PMI) of the bank increased from 50.7 in June to 52 in July. The index is a measure of the sector’s health.
The country's official PMI for July will be released by China in August.
China earlier reported that its economy had expanded by 7.5% in the April-June quarter compared with the same period a year ago.
