May 12 , 2017
As per reports, China's Commerce Ministry mentioned that it was ready to work with the European Union in order to resolve the problems faced by the steel sector. It came after the EU Commission said anti-dumping duties would be slapped on Chinese seamless steel pipe.
According to the ministry, duties of between 29.2% and 54.9% will be imposed by the EU on the product. However, it was unclear if the move was officially announced by the EU.
The ministry also urged the European Union for a fair treatment toward the Chinese firms and abide by the rules set up by World Trade Organization.
