China: Core inflation increases by 1.4% in February

The core inflation rate in China increased by 1.4% last month compared to the previous year, exceeding most analyst expectations.
Compared to February, the consumer price inflation figure for January saw a 0.8% rise.
The consumer inflation target set by China is 3%, lower than last year’s 3.5%. The February inflation figures are expected to lessen concerns over deflation.
The world’s second-largest economy has a growth target of 7% in 2015, down from the 2014 target of 7.5%.
