Brazil: Leading banker Aldemir Bendine appointed as new Petrobras chief
February 7 , 2015
Prominent banker Aldemir Bendine has been named as the new chief executive of Brazil’s oil giant Petrobras.
Bendine is likely to be viewed as a safe choice for the corruption-hit firm.
The corruption scandal, which has adversely impacted the image of Brazil's president Dilma Rousseff, is estimated to run into billions of dollars in graft and kickbacks.
Maria das Gracas Foster resigned as the boss of the state-run company on Wednesday in wake of the damaging scandal.
