Baked goods paying off at Starbucks
January 25 , 2014
Starbucks was never known for its baked goods but the company has begun to see promising signs for its sweets. The chief financial officer of Starbucks mentioned that croissant sales have doubled and the company has also begun to sell double the number of "morning buns."
Starbucks wants to push the transactions of food, which are only about one-third of its total sales as of now. "It's a big supply chain," Troy Alstead said.
It's too early to predict whether or not these sales will increase since people could just be giving them a try. Price of the new croissant has increased from $1.95 to $2.25.
