AT&T to allow upgrade once a year
July 17 , 2013
AT&T is soon introducing a new plan that will allow its customers to upgrade their mobile devices once a year. The name of the plan is AT&T Next and customers wouldn't have to pay any fees or down payment under it but instead they'd pay for their devices through monthly installments ranging from $15 to $50.
After the customers are done with 12 monthly payments, they can pick a new device in exchange for the old one. They can also choose to keep paying for their phone until 20 installments.
This plan is quite similar to the one that was introduced by T-Mobile under which users can upgrade their phones twice a year. These are the only two major US cell carriers that have adopted such plans.
