AT&T may strike a deal with DirecTV
May 14 , 2014
Several outlets are reporting that AT&T may buy DirecTV for about $50 billion and the deal is likely to strike in the coming weeks.
The exact price hasn't been decided as yet, but it could be in the "low-to mid-$90 per share," according to media reports. However, the price could even be $100 for every share. Dish said the merger seems to be logical and it couldn't have outbid AT&T for its competitor.
Meanwhile, DirecTV CEO Mike White's fate hasn't been determined since he isn't going to step down, but reports suggest that he wishes to retire after 2015.
