Atlanta Archbishop to sell home for $2.2M

  • The Roman Catholic archbishop mentioned today that he is planning on selling his mansion for $2.2M. Wilton Gregory moved into the house only three months ago and made this announcement after meeting with members of several church councils in Atlanta.

"I have decided to sell the Habersham property and invest the proceeds from that sale into the needs of the Catholic community," he said.

Laura Mullins was one of the Catholics who asked him to sell the mansion. "He is the person we follow locally," she said. "He sets the example for all of us to follow. If he is choosing to use a gift so personally, what does that tell the people sitting in the pews?"
