Apple's 1984 commercial turns 30
January 23 , 2014
It's not uncommon for people to talk about Apple's "iconic" Super Bowl ad from 1984. However, it's especially appropriate to give it attention this year since it's been 30 years since it was first shown.
Contrary to popular belief, the ad didn't air on television only once. It was eligible for the advertising awards in 1983 and hence aired that December at a small station in Idaho.
"Gonna be a good Super Bowl. Mac's gonna be 30 :)," one of the co-creators of the ad tweeted. The tweet is a reminder that the ad as well as Mac computers turn 30 this week.
