December 25 , 2013
Apple has made a long-awaited deal and will begin selling the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c on Jan. 17 in China.
"The deal is long-anticipated but finally announced," analyst Brian Marshall said. "We think it's a big deal." The reason for this is that analysts estimate that the company will be able to sell another 20 million devices once it starts working with China Mobile.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said China Mobile, which is the biggest phone carrier in the world with 760 subscribers, "is an extremely important market for Apple"
"We know there are many China Mobile customers and potential new customers who are anxiously awaiting the incredible combination of iPhone on China Mobile's leading network," Chairman of China Mobile Xi Guohua said.
