July 30 , 2013
According to China Labor Watch, three factories of Pegatron (suppliers of Apple) have violated a "great number of international and Chinese laws and standards". The allegations include underage labor, contract violations and excessive working hours.
Both Apple and Pegatron have said investigations for the same would be carried out immediately. Apple said the firm "is committed to providing safe and fair working conditions" throughout their supply chain.
According to Pegatron, the allegations were taken "very seriously". The firm said they will investigate them fully and take immediate actions to correct any violations to Chinese labor laws and their own code of conduct.
