Apple and Samsung quit rivalry
July 16 , 2013
Samsung is reportedly going to be supplying chips for the new iPhone starting 2015. This means a reversal of relationship between the two companies that are known to be rivals. After the costly patent disputes between the two, Apple had not been having any manufacturing links with Samsung. Samsung also had to stop supplying chips for the iPhone to a Taiwanese firm last year.
The recent contract between the two companies seems to be the result of Samsung's development of a processing chip before its Taiwanese rival. There is no information that suggests if the iPad will also use the same chips but the iPhone 7 which is to be released in 2015 would definitely be powered by the chips developed by Samsung.
