Apec summit: Xi Jinping calls for further economic integration
November 11 , 2014
China’s president Xi Jinping has called upon Asia-Pacific countries to step up economic integration in order to accelerate global growth, during the Apec summit, according to media reports.
Twenty-one leaders of the Apec group are holding roundtable talks, with trade and anti-corruption policies high on the agenda.
The Chinese leader said the global economic recovery still faced several “unstable and uncertain” challenges.
Meanwhile, the US has welcomed the meeting between Xi Jinping and Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, which has been described as an "ice-breaker" by pundits.
