Americans eat dessert more often
October 7 , 2013
Reports suggest that Americans have begun to consume dessert more often; compared to the 36 percent three years ago, the percentage of consumers that eat desserts after a meal at least thrice a week has increased to 40 percent.
Moreover, many people have reported eating dessert for snacks in the morning and afternoon. Desserts are even used as replacement for meals at times.
Executive vice president at Technomic Darren Tristano said "consumers aren't holding off on dessert until after dinner." He mentioned that people are "reaching for easily accessible, hand-held and portable treats at just about any time of the day."
