Amazon starts paying corporation tax on retail sales in UK
May 23 , 2015
Amazon has become the first tech firm to discard practices that diverted profits and sales away from Britain.
The online retail giant started booking sales through Britain from the beginning of May.
It has made $8.3 billion in worldwide sales from UK online shoppers, but for over a decade these transactions were booked in Luxembourg.
The latest decision will help Amazon escape the new diverted profits tax regime implemented by UK chancellor George Osborne.
