September 23 , 2013
Some Amazon employees, who demand to be paid for security checks as well as for off-the-clock theft have filed a suit against the company in Nashville.
The employees said they are not paid for the amount of time it takes for them to go through security checks that reportedly last about 20 to 30 minutes, before and after their shifts.
Attorney David Garrison said the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals required the company in Nevada to pay for its employees for the time spent on anti-theft check.
The company spokesman hasn't commented on the lawsuit.
