Airfare on the rise for fourth year in a row
January 20 , 2014
It's not unreasonable to consider flying as an expensive option since airfares have been on the rise for four straight years.
The average domestic ticket, including tax, has gone up to $363.42. Moreover, airlines are merging flights, which are increasingly getting more crowded.
"Anyone traveling today will know that those flights are full," an executive responsible for handling ticket transactions said. "Just through supply and demand, those fares will go up." Rick Seaney of USA Today mentioned that it's best to purchase tickets three-and-a-half months prior to departure and definitely more than 21 days in advance.
