Air Nigeria ends international flights
September 11 , 2012
Air Nigeria made its final long-haul flights on Monday after announcing last week the suspension of all services.
Investors behind the national carrier have struggled to deal with $250 million worth of inherited debt when they acquired the airline from Virgin two years ago.
The decline of Air Nigeria leaves the country with four domestic carriers, a blow for the country’s booming economy.
However, if the airline is able to find a solution to its debt problems, it could resume its operations.
In the meantime, the Nigerian government is mulling over creating another national carrier.
