Air France ditches the Transavia expansion plan
September 25 , 2014
Air France has decided to discard the plans to extend its Transavia low-cost airline in Europe, as per media reports. The pilots were unhappy with the decision and the low rates of pay had gone on an indefinite strike. They threatened to continue with the strike unless the Transavia Europe project was withdrawn. The strike hampered the airlines a great deal costing them up to 15m euros a day.
With the withdrawal of the Transavia Europe project, Air France removes the concerns about relocation that was bothering the pilots. They have requested the pilots to call off the strike and return to work immediately.
