Advanced screening: German airlines stare at ban on UK landings

  • Germany’s airlines could be banned from landing in the UK unless their passenger lists are handed over in advance for screening, media reports said.

The two countries are holding talks over German data protection laws that don’t allow advanced passenger lists to be given for privacy reasons.

Britain’s move comes as it is prepares to introduce more stringent counter-terrorism laws this month aimed at curtailing the flow of jihadist fighters from and to Syria and Iraq.
