A trillion dollars lost in corruption every year, says study
September 3 , 2014
An estimated one trillion dollars a year and millions of lives were being lost on account of corruption, a report by an American organization has said.
The gains made in the last 20 years against extreme poverty were at risk of being reversed because of corruption and crime, the report said.
If the huge sums lost in corruption were invested in health in poor countries instead, millions of deaths could be prevented, it said.
