Parana is the capital of Entre Rios province in Argentina. Parana has a latitudinal location at 31 0 44' S to 60 o 32' W. Parana is situated on the eastern shore of the river Parana. Parana lies opposite to the Santa Fe city.

Santa Fe city and Parana city are connected to each other by Hernandarias Subfluvial Tunnel which was inaugurated in the year 1969.

Parana is both the head quarter of the provincial government and an important river port through which cereals, lumber, fish and cattle are transported. Parana is also an important industrial center. Parana also has dome manufacturing industries of cement, ceramics and furniture.

The artistic hue of Parana is observed in the church buildings which are made in European style. The 3 de Febero theater, the Government House, the cathedrals of the city, the modern parks and the towers of the city reflects the artistic brilliance of Parana.

Parana City is well connected to Buenos Aires and other parts of the country through regular flights from the General Justo Jose de Urquiza Airport .

Parana is also noted for the fact that it acted as the host in collaboration with its neighbor city Santa Fe for the Convencion Reformadora de la Constitucion Nacional Argentina in the year 1994.
