Formosa is a province in Argentina and a city with the same name is the capital city of the Formosa province. Formosa is situated on the bank of the River Paraguay.
Formosa is situated between the grid of 26 0 11' S to 58 o 11' W.

Formosa covers a land area of about 6,195 square kms. Formosa is situated at a distance of 1,200 kilometers from Buenos Aires. Formosa's history states that the Toba and the Wichi aboriginals lived here. Formosa gained the provincial status in the year 1955.

Formosa is an important industrial hub of the Formosa Province . The industries in Formosa are mainly involved in the processing of the natural resources that are present in abundance in the province. The products are transported to the whole province through Paraguay river connecting the Parana river .
