It has been almost 100 years since the last total solar eclipse traced a path across the contiguous United States, and went from the Pacific to the Atlantic Coast. The last time we could witness such a phenomenon was in 1918. In fact, it has been almost 38 years since the last total solar eclipse was visible from any of the states in continental US.
