Ohio is on the northeastern edge of the Midwest region of the United States of America. It is the 17th state admitted to the union of the USA on March 1, 1803. Lake Erie surrounds Ohio to the north. It also shares its border with Pennsylvania to the east, West Virginia to the southeast, Kentucky to the southwest, and Michigan in the northwest. Columbus is the capital of Ohio.<\/p>\n
