Masvingo was earlier known by the name of Fort Victoria and it was the first area that was captivated by the Britishers, in Zimbabwe. The name Masvingo was given to the place after the independence. Masvingo in Zimbabwe is very famous for its important place in the history. This was the headquarter of the British colony and was acknowledged as the Royal area while the British rule.
Tourists visit this area for many reasons like, the natural beauty of Masvingo, the Lake Mutirikwe National Park, and so on but Masvingo in Zimbabwe is still more famous and frequently visited because of the historical touch and the British monuments there. Masvingo in Zimbabwe has an unique place among the tourists destinations because of its mixed historical and natural beauty.
The Masvingo climate is a very dry and dusty one. The place is known for its mining and coal industry. People of Masvingo also earn from animal husbandry farms. At the high inflationary time in the economy, the industries and farms here almost ruined but the NGO's helped a lot in bringing up of the place. Masvingo Climate is though not a very soothing and comfortable one yet it is a beautiful place to visit.
Reaching Masvingo is not a very tough job because it is near to the the city Harare in Zimbabwe. International and domestic flights are available till Harare and one has to avail the road transport facility from there to reach Masvingo.
