Zimbabwe Daily News is the last independent Newspaper of Zimbabwe. It had been the most popular Newspaper in Zimbabwe. It dates back to the year of 1999, when Daily News of Zimbabwe was launched and since then it gave the best of News to the people of Zimbabwe. It was indeed a very important part of Zimbabwe Media until recently, when it faced the doldrums. Due to breach of some press registration law set by the Government, the Newspaper House is shut and still fighting the case.
Zimbabwe Daily News had a readership of almost 8 lacs. The bold criticism of President Robert Mugabe made the newspaper see the court. The printing press was bombed with few of its executives, reporters and editors been detained by the government. Finally it was closed, as Daily News refused to fight the constitutionality of the law.
However now the Zimbabwe Daily News still has its e-paper for its readers. The readers of this paper cherished reading the news from this paper, as they were bold and loud. The web pages still have the power to turn the mind of the readers and influences them. Thus no other Zimbabwe Newspaper can take the place of Zimbabwe Daily News.
