University of Zimbabwe



University of Zimbabwe is an important part of Zimbabwe Education. University of Zimbabwe located in Harare at a place called Mr. Pleasant and was founded in the year 1955. Today it has student strength of about 7000.

Importance of University of Zimbabwe

University of Zimbabwe enjoys the reputation of being the first and one of the largest Universities of Zimbabwe. The University also has an international reputation of being one of the best Universities of Zimbabwe. All courses are offered in the English Language. However, the University also offers courses in the native languages of Zimbabwe for the students who do not have the knowledge of English language. Special Courses are also offered in this University in the Shona Language.

Courses of University of Zimbabwe

The University of Zimbabwe offers its students with a wide variety of interesting and promising courses to choose from. Some of the important courses that are offered in the University are Geography, History, Agriculture, Political Science and Public Administration, Anthropology, Economics, Natural Sciences, Religion and Social Sciences.

Some Special Courses are also offered by the University of Zimbabwe. Some of the important special courses are “Grasslands Science”, “Agricultural History of Africa to 1900”, “Third World Conflict and International Security”, “Ethnomusicoloy” and “Urban Sociology,”
