University of Zambia

University of Zambia is the most important part of Zambia education. It is the most ancient University in Zambia established on 12th July 1966 where Dr Kaunda, the President was appointed as the Chancellor. Presently the student strength of the university is about 10,000.

University of Zambia enjoys the reputation of being the first and one of the largest universities of Zambia. The University also has an international reputation of being one of the best Universities of Zambia. All courses are offered in the English Language since it is the official language of Zambia. However, the University also offers courses in the native languages of Zambia for the students who do not have the knowledge of English language. The University also provides the students with the accommodation facilities.

International recognition is attached to the courses offered by the university. The University started with three courses - Humanities, Social sciences and Natural sciences. Then gradually various other courses are being offered in the University, which include Law, Engineering, Medicine, Agricultural Sciences, Business, Industrial Studies and Veterinary Medicine and many more. University of Zambia also attracts huge number of international students from different parts of the world.
