The Sana'a international airport is the most developed international as well as domestic airport of Yemen. Therefore, all international flights to Yemen arrive at the Sana'a international airport in Yemen. The government of Yemen runs only one national carrier called the Yemenia, which provides domestic flights to all regional destinations of Yemen. In other words, Yemenia is the only carrier that enables the passengers to access other Yemenite cities like Aden, Taiz, Al-Hudayda, Al-Ghayda and Hadibu. While boarding a flight to Yemen, tourists do not require any special travel permit, but a legal permission is required before embarking on a scheduled trip.
The Sana'a international airport also receives direct international flights from Western Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Most of the flights traveling to Yemen are based in the Middle East, but there are some other international flights also traveling to Sana'a airport. Some international flights include British Airways, KLM, the Qatar Airways, the Saudi Arabian Airlines, Emirates and the Royal Jordanian. Egypt Air however, still remains a hot favorite among tourists traveling to Yemen, because it reaches Sana'a airport at 4 A.M. Among all the airlines, which provide flights to Yemen, Lufthansa and Yemenia are the most expensive. However, it is safe to purchase flight tickets at the official Yemenia counters rather than from the travel agents who might charge handsome amounts.
