The Yemen Language Center (YLC) was the first private institution of Yemen, which was formed in order to exclusively teach Arabic as a foreign language. The language centre was open for students from all parts of the world. The Yemen Language Center was established in the year 1989 and is located in the capital city, Sana’a. In the year 2007, Yemen Language Center became the first and only fully-accredited Arabic program for students from foreign countries.
The Yemen Language Center’s Arabic Language Learning Program spans for a period of five weeks to one year and is open to students from all over the world. The students are required to attend classes for five days in a week and generally there are eight students in each class. The classes are held from Saturday to Wednesday and Standard Instruction comprises of either 4 hours of group instruction or 2 hours of private instruction. A Certificate of Completion is provided at the end of the Arabic Learning course.
On an average, a term of 5 weeks would cost $3,145 for students and $3,360 for non-students who wish to have a single room of their own. The prices are lesser in case one opts for shared housing options. The Learning Program costs supplemental Arabic language learning materials, transportation to and from Sana’a International Airport, round-trip airfare, visa extension facilities, internet use, housing, meals and lectures about the history and culture of Arab.
