Hadhramout of Yemen is the Governorate with the biggest territory. The city has a variety of land forms including mountains and hills, vast area of Empty Quarters and beautiful beaches on the coast of Arabian Sea. The climate of Hadhramout is the same as that of the whole country i.e., hot and humid. During summer, the temperature of the interior region goes up to 40 degree Celsius. However, the same of the coastal regions is 36 degree Celsius due to the humid monsoons. The winter at Hadhramout is moderate. The temperature of the interiors during winters lies between 17 and 20 degree Celsius, whereas the same at the coast ranges between 20 and 24 degree Celsius.
There are many wadis at Hadhramout. But the largets of all is Wadi Hadhramout. It covers an area of around 165 kilometers in Saihout in Mahara Governorate. It consists of many tributaries.
