Staples Center is a versatile sports stadium in Los Angeles, California.
It is home to five professional sports franchises viz. the Los Angeles Kings' National Hockey League, the Los Angeles Kings' National Hockey League, the Los Angeles Avengers' Arena Football League, the Los Angeles Clippers' National Basketball Association, the Los Angeles Lakers' National Basketball Association, and the Los Angeles Sparks' Women's National Basketball Association.
The Staples Center has been a leading venue for major sports and other events. It has been known to draw a crowd of four million visitors per annum.Since 2000, the annual Grammy Awards and the Pacific Ten Men's Basketball Tournament are also being held here.
Some other big events that have been held at the Staples Center include the Democratic National Convention (2000), the U.S. Figure Skating Championships (2002), the NHL All-Star game (2002), the X Games, the WTA Tour Championships, the Pac 10 Basketball Championships (2004), and the NBA All-Star Game (2004).
As far as wrestling events are concerned it has hosted Wrestle Mania 21(drawing record setting crowd in 2005), the WWE Unforgiven (2002), the WWE Judgment Day (2004) and many other events.
Staples Center's current seating capacity is 18,997 for basketball, 18,118 for hockey, 18,118 for arena Football and 20,000 for Concerts.
