The Astrodome, its new name being 'The Reliant Astrodome', is a sports stadium located in Houston, Texas. It was home to Houston Oilers (NFL) 1968-1997, Houston Astros (MLB) (1965-1999), Houston Gamblers (USFL) (1984-1985), Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (1966-2003),and Houston Engery (WPFL) (2002-).
Astrodome has hosted a variety of events such as college football and basketball games, soccer matches, religious amassing, concerts etc. The major events held here include the 1971 NCAA men's basketball Final Four, NBA All-Star Game 1968, 1986 and 1989 and the famous "Battle of the Sexes" tennis match (Billie Jean King, the female tennis star vs Bobby Riggs, former men's Wimbledon champion).
In 2001, the Wrestle Mania XVII held at the Astrodome drew record crowd of 67,925.
The stadium's capacity is 62,439 for football and 54,816 for baseball.
