Located near the Great American Ballpark , the stadium is operated by the Cincinnati Bengals , the National Football League or the NFL team. Paul Brown Stadium is situated by the Ohio River. Spread over an area of 22 acres, the main stadium is 157 feet high. The stadium was inaugurated in 2000 with a seating capacity of 65,535. Viewers can watch the event from three tier stands. There are 7,600 club seats and 114 private suits in the Paul Brown Stadium .
Paul Brown Stadium has been set at the place of Riverfront Stadium . After the inauguration in 2000, the first match was played there in 2002. The stadium is equipped with all modern facilities. There are two huge end-zone score boards with video facility to enable every spectator a good view of the event. In the beginning, the field was covered with natural Kentucky bluegrass. Later it was covered with a synthetic material called FieldTurf , which looks and feels like natural grass. The material has made the stadium surface more durable and easy to maintain. The Cincinnati Bengals started to play on the FieldTurf surface in 2004. Since then, they have been playing on that field. The Paul Brown Stadium hosts many other events.
The Paul Brown Stadium covers a total area of 1,850,000 square feet. Apart from the main stadium, the stadium compound includes one artificial field and two natural turf fields for practice. The stadium has been given a pleasant and picturesque look by planting numerous trees and shrubs.
