Lucas Oil Stadium

Lucas Oil Stadium is a new stadium, which is being constructed at Indianapolis in the state of Indiana of the United States of America. The stadium is being built as a replacement of the RCA Dome , to be operating as the home ground of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts . RCA Dome has been functioning as the home ground for the team since 1984. The construction work for the new stadium began in 2005, which is scheduled to be finished by the first half of 2008. In 2006, the name of the stadium was decided to be Lucas Oil Stadium , after the company won the naming rights for the new stadium. Since 2008, the stadium is to be the venue of final four tournaments included in the schedule of NCAA men's and women's program and other sports events.

Lucas Oil Stadium will feature the latest retractable roof. The seating arrangement in the stadium is being done in a three-deck, seven-level structure. The retractable roof will allow an expandable seating capacity at the Lucas Oil Stadium . For football matches, 63,000 spectators would be able to gather there, while for NCAA basketball events, the capacity will be 70,000. The surface of the Lucas Oil Stadium is going to be covered with FieldTurf , the synthetic material, which looks and feels like grass. The stadium designed by the HKS Sports and Entertainment Group is sure to be one of the finest of its kind. The stadium authority will provide the visitors with all the modern facilities.
