Los Angeles Dodger Stadium

Los Angeles Dodger Stadium or the Dodger Stadium is a baseball stadium, which is situated at Chavez Ravine of Los Angeles in California, the United States of America. The stadium was opened in 1962. The Dodger Stadium is the home ground of the Los Angeles Dodgers , a Major League Baseball team of California. The stadium has been used as the venue of numerous national and international baseball events. The stadium was specially designed for resisting earthquake, as California is known to be an earthquake prone area. The Dodger Stadium was also the home ground of the Los Angeles Angels or the California Angels , another baseball team between 1962 and 1965. The Angels called the stadium by the name of Chavez Ravine . Apart from baseball events, the stadium has also been hosting a number of musical shows, boxing, basketball and bowling events.

The Dodger Stadium is owned by the Los Angeles Dodgers . The seating capacity of the stadium is 56,000. The area covered by the stadium is 300 acres. Designed by Emil Praeger, the Dodger Stadium was to have 85,000 expandable seats. However, that plan was not executed. The playing surface at the Dodger Stadium is covered with Santa Ana Bermuda grass. This stadium is considered to be one of the classic pitcher's parks.
