Gillette Stadium

Gillette Stadium , formerly known as the CMGI Field and opened in 2002 replacing the Foxborough Stadium, is the home ground of two teams- the New England Patriots football team and the New England Revolution soccer team. The stadium which is located in Foxborough, Massachusetts, has a sitting arrangement for 68,756 people. Among these, there are 6,000 club seats and 87 luxury seats. There are also arrangement for 2,756 suite seating and also accommodation for 680 wheelchairs. Robert Kraft , an American businessman who is the owner and operator of the New England Patriots and the New England Revolution teams, is also the proprietor and operator of the stadium.

Robert Kraft had initially selected a site in Hartford in the State of Connecticut. But he shifted from his chosen place to build it adjacent to the Foxboro Stadium . It has played a major role in the fate of the Patriots as they have played extremely well in the 2007 NFL season making full use of the home advantage. Since the opening, the Gillette Stadium, which boasts a Field Turf surface , has hosted a number of important games. These include the season-opening games of the NFL in 2004, the 2003 AFC Championship Game and some matches of the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup . It is scheduled to play host to the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships in 2008.

The Gillette Stadium is one of the major stadiums of the United States. The stadium, constructed by architect John Bolles holds a significant position among the stadiums of the country.
