The Emirates Stadium is a stadium located on Ash Burton Grove in Holloway, northern London and is a football stadium which seems to be the third largest stadium in London after Wembley and Twickenham. Inaugurated in July 2006, the Emirates Stadium acts as the home of Arsenal Football Club . The stadium is named after Emirates as the club has agreed on sponsorship deals with the Emirates Airlines on a long term basis.
Emirates Stadium is located conveniently in the northern part of London but is only 7.5km from the main city center. The stadium can be reached by metro and there are four international airports within a range of 50km from the stadium.
The first soccer match to be played in the stadium was between Arsenal and Ajax, where Arsenal won the game by 2-1. Emirates Stadium has hosted several important soccer tournaments since its inception. The first competitive game of Arsenal in Emirates Stadium was in FA Premier League against Aston Villa. Among Arsenal's first European match in this stadium is the 2006 UEFA Champions League's third qualifying round second leg match against Dinamo Zagreb. The first international football match was played between the two most glorious nations in football-Argentina and Brazil.
Emirates Stadium has a huge capacity to accommodate 60,400 people and the highest attendance attained till date records a wonderful 60,132.
The stadium is beautiful to look at with four-tiers and with cover over the stands but not over the main pitch. The seating arrangement is wonderful with certain special facilities for the privileged members of the club.
