The stadium has a retractable roof, which can be moved using motors. The playing surface of the stadium is covered with Kentucky Blue Grass and Anza grass. The roof of the stadium is regularly removed so that the natural grass turf receives sufficient sunlight. The multi-tier seating arrangement of the Chase Field provides the spectators chance of watching the activity on the field clearly.
