Alltel Stadium is the former name of the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium and has been witness to some world-class football events as well as some well known concert events. Alltel Stadium was built on the basis of Gator Bowl Stadium and was inaugurated in August 1995. The stadium has undergone several renovations and has made its place in one of the top sports locations of the country.

Alltel Stadium also hosts wide array of other events like monster truck shows and concerts. Various college football events are also hosted in the stadium. Annual Gator Bowl contest is also conducted in this stadium. In December 2005, two consecutive ACC football Championship games were played in the Alltel Stadium . Super bowl XXXIX was also hosted in the Alltel Stadium . The first event that was played in the stadium was a debut of the Jaguar team in the 1995-96 NFL season.
Alltel's Stadium has a seating capacity of around 76000 people and the seating arrangement in the stadium is such that clear visibility is available to people who are present in the last tiers of the stadium. This visibility factor was capitalized on during conducting various concerts in the stadium by Rolling Stones, Shania Twain, N'Sync etc.
Other facilities available in the Alltel Stadium are indoor dining and entertainment facilities, well equipped luxury suites, excellent training facilities, locker rooms, clearly audible sound system as well as club seating facility.
