According to authorities, At least seven people were killed, including the gunman who was killed by a police officer. Four of the deceased were inside the temple and three outside, including the shooter. The police officer and the gunman exchanged multiple rounds and the officer was shot multiple times. About 8 to 20 people were also reported to be injured at the shooting, said officials.
Among those shot was Satwant Kaleka, the president of Gurdwara. People inside the temple used their cell phones to call for help. Chief medical officer at Froedtert Hospital told that the injured were all male adults and in critical condition. Oak Creek Police Chief said that they are treating this as a domestic terrorist incident.
