Flood and landslide in Philippines causes more than 100 deaths





October 9, 2009: Flood and landslide actuated by heavy shower in the northern parts of Philippines, caused more than 100 deaths. Maximum deaths occurred in the Benguet province due the occurrence of landslides.

Pangasinan, another province of Philippines was also badly impacted. The release of accumulated flood water from the dams, further cramped the situation and the overall rescue operations.

The landslide and flood calamity is the backwash of the two major storms Typhoons Ketsana and Parma that hit the country of Philippines a few days ago.
