West Asia Map

West Asia is the western portion of Asia. The word west Asia is purely a geographical term used for the western extremities of the Asian continent. International organization like United Nations due to perceived Eurocentrism has started using the term Western Asia instead of Middle East and Near East. However, it is of importance to understand that Western Asia is different than West Asia as Western Asia also includes areas of Europe like Cyprus, Georgia and Turkey.
