Vietnam Stadiums serve as the venues of important sports events organized at the national as well as international levels. The chief stadium of Vietnam is the My Dinh National Stadium located in the National Sports Complex near Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam in the Tu Liem district. Officially inaugurated in 2003, the My Dinh National Stadium was completed in 2004.
With a capacity to seat 40,000 spectators, the My Dinh National Stadium is the largest of Vietnam stadiums. Built with a budget of US $ 53 million dollars, the My Dinh National Stadium hosted the 2003 Southeast Asian Games. Almost half the seats of the My Dinh National Stadium is sheltered by the arched roofs over the grandstands.
Other important stadiums of Vietnam are the Thong Nhat Stadium, with a seating capacity of 25,000, in Ho Chi Minh City, San Chi Lang Stadium in Da Nang, with a capacity of 28,000, Lach Tray Stadium, with a capacity of 20,000, in the port-city of Haiphong and the Cao Lang Stadium in Cao Lang, with seating capacity of 23,000.
