Vietnam National Games constitute of various outdoor sports like football, volleyball, athletics, rowing, etc as well as indoor games like chess, cards, etc. The first national games, Special Olympics Vietnam, was held in Hanoi. Athletes from 3 provinces of Vietnam participated in the Special Olympics Vietnam.
One of the games played at the national level in Vietnam include football and the National Football Team of Vietnam managed by the Vietnam Football Federation. An important participant of the Summer Olympics and the Asian Cup, the National Football Team of Vietnam forms a major part of Vietnam National Games.
The National Olympic Committee of Vietnam supports the training of athletes providing suitable equipments and diet. The athletes of Vietnam are trained by professionals to participate in Vietnam National games like judo, karate, athletics, taekwondo, pencek silat, shooting, etc.
The participation of the athletes of Vietnam in important sports events at the national level has resulted in the advancement of Vietnam national games. Chess, played by veterans like Thi Huong Le and A Sang Trenh, has also gained significance as one of the national games played in Vietnam.
