The tournament,2007 AFC Asian Cup, is part of the history that started with the formation of the Asian Football Confederation in 1954 was followed by the beginning of AFC Asian Cup tournament in 1956. With time, the AFC Asian Cup became one of the most coveted prize in the arena of international football played in Asia.
AFC Asian Cup of 2007 was hosted by four Asian countries, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. The host countries of AFC Asian Cup, 2007, working together made the tournament a huge success. The My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi and the Army Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City served as venues for some of the matches of 2007 AFC Asian Cup. The football team from Iraq ultimately emerged as the winner of the AFC Asian Cup, 2007, defeating Saudi Arabia for 1-0.
