2004 Tiger Cup was hosted by the two countries of Vietnam and Malaysia jointly. The ASEAN Football Championship is the original name of Tiger Cup. The Southeast Asian countries participating in the Tiger Cup of 2004 went through stages of group league matches, semi-finals and ultimately the final. Singapore emerged as the winner of 2004 Tiger Cup, one of the significant Vietnam sports festivals.
The teams playing in Tiger Cup, 2004 were divided into two groups, Group A and Group B. The football teams constituting Group A were Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos. The football teams of Group B were Thailand, Malaysia, Timoy Leste, Philippines and Myanmar. Many of the football matches of 2004 Tiger Cup were played in the stadiums of Vietnam namely the My Dinh National Stadium, Hanoi, Lach Tray Stadium, Haiphong, etc.
The final match of 2004 Tiger Cup was played between Singapore and Indonesia. Singapore football team won 2-1. The football team of Singapore is coached by Raddy Avramovic. The skill and efficiency of the goalkeeper of Singapore Football Team,Lionel Lewis, exhibited in the 2004 Tiger Cup earned him the Emirates Most Valuable Player Award.
